She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Oviedo (1995) and is a Professor at the University of Huelva (2002). Her main research interests are social competence, the prison environment, and delinquency and violence among young couples. Her scholarly work focuses primarily on legal, forensic, and clinical psychology. She was the principal investigator of a research project of excellence on dating violence.
